What is the difference between 'clinical hypnotherapy' and 'hypnosis'?
Clinical hypnotherapy refers to the use of hypnosis as a means of therapeutic intervention, or as a part of a larger therapeutic
programme involving talk-therapy. The primary difference between this and hypnosis, is that clinical HYPNOTHERAPY is
administered by a licensed professional trained in the area with a Masters or Psy.D. through an accredited graduate
school learning specific techniques to help clients overcome their anxiety and mental health problems. A HYPNOTIST cannot
offer mental health therapy, counseling or childhood regression. Clinical hypnotherapists require stringent certifications
and, in the same way as doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists, they are governed by a comprehensive code of ethics. With this
level of education the Title HYPNOTHERAPIST is reserved only for the STATE licensed professional.

What are phobias?
A phobia on the other hand (while still a very strong and unpleasant reaction), is an irrational fear which has been
'symbolically attached' to an object, or situation, which causes little or no real danger. There will usually be strong
avoidance behaviour connected with the phobia, which will run alongside intense feelings of anxiety, loss of control and panic. Sometimes, confrontation with the phobia, can even lead to fainting, but this is usually only associated with
blood, injury, or needle-type phobias.
